Hi.  I’m Nick Moore.
I am a strategic and creative professional. I have enjoyed a successful career as an Executive Creative Director and Chief Creative Officer in London and New York. I have been privileged to work with many of the best brands in the world, developing brand advertising, digital marketing and direct marketing.
I have managed teams of a couple of dozen and teams of a couple of hundred, all the while focusing on creating a positive, diverse and creative environment. Along the way I have won dozens of pitches, launched and built brands, won nearly 200 major creative awards and, most importantly, helped my clients to compete and win in their markets.
I believe this is the most exciting time ever to work in advertising, marketing and technology. I know my best work lies ahead of me. On the path to this point, I have learned a lot. Here are twelve things I know:
1. A big, organizing, human idea is the most valuable thing you can create.
2. In a world of clutter, simplicity is central to success.
3. Data is useless until it yields a surprising, actionable insight.
4. Be tough on the work, and good to the people.
5. Don’t dumb things down. Make complexity simple to understand.
6. Create experiences that people can take part in and use. Behavioral psychology tells us this wins heads and hearts.
7. You can’t just decide to create a great culture. But if you create great work with great people, the culture will follow.
8. Great technology is vital to delivering the idea. But it’s not the idea.
9. Story telling works because, since Homer, that’s how humans have best absorbed information and then passed it on to others in their networks.
10. Be interesting and likeable. People spend time on things that interest them and they buy things that they like.
11. The client's business wins, or the agency loses the business.
12. Why would anybody give a damn? If you don’t know, you haven’t solved the brief.
13. I’m not good at counting.
